Date: 2/9/13

Ricky capped off a fantastic weekend for him personally by helping Wolverhampton to an impressive away victory at in form Belle Vue. The Aces had beat some top sides of late so this really was a big result for Ricky's side. Racing at number two he scored 8+3 as Wolves went on to win 48-42

The weekend started last Thursday as Ricky scored 15 points against Premier League title contenders Ipswich for Sheffield in their 45-45 draw. The Tigers had lost their previous two home meetings against Edinburgh and league champions Scunthorpe so this was welcome points for the Owlerton side.

Ricky then hit the road and made the long journey to Plymouth on Friday. It was another defeat for the Tigers but Ricky could hold his head high as he scored a seasons best, 19 points. It was a frustrating evening for Sheffield with only Ricky and guest Richard Lawson scoring any significant points in the 51-42 defeat.

He was certainly clocking up the miles this weekend, from Plymouth on Friday all the way north to Glasgow on Sunday. Sheffield left Scotland with a positive result, gaining two league points as they had yet another 45-45 draw. It was another big points haul for him as he scored 15+1.

Any rider racing four meetings in five days could be excused of complaining of exhaustion, especially with the amount of travelling Ricky had but he produced a solid performance in tonights victory. He can now look forward to a couple of days rest.
