American ace Ricky Wells is looking forward to a busy Easter weekend of racing for Workington and Wolverhampton.

His Good Friday fixture for Wolves at Belle Vue fell foul to the weather so Wells is now looking forward to racing at Workington on Saturday against Newcastle in a challenge meeting before the two teams meet at Newcastle the following night in a reverse fixture. He added: "The season really kicks off this weekend with three meetings in four days for me and I can't wait to get started.

"We have a great bunch of lads at Workington this season and hopefully we can mount a challenge come the end of the season and these two challenges against Newcastle will show us where we are early on and give us the chance to iron out any problems we have with bikes and set-ups."

Wells then heads into Elite league action for Wolves on Tuesday night at home against a strong looking Belle Vue team and Wells is excited at the prospect of getting the season underway with a win a three league points by adding: "I love racing around Monmore and my third place in the Olympique the other week was fun and set me up for hopefully more of the same on Tuesday night.

"I had a kick up the backside when they released me at the back end of last season and I want to improve my average and give the fans something to shout about because they deserve something from the team this season after a few barron years."
