AMERICAN World Cup Speedway ace Ricky Wells has ended speculation over his future by agreeing a new deal with Sheffield.

Wells has been locked in talks with the Owlerton side for weeks but he contacted club bosses late on Tuesday night to accept the contract.

He completes the Sheffield Window Centre side for the 2013 campaign and joins Simon Stead, Richard Hall, Facundo Albin, Damien Koppe, Joe Haines and Jake Knight.

Said Wells: "I think Sheffield and myself came to a respectable conclusion on the deal. I'd like to thank David Hoggart (Sheffield Promoter), my main sponsor Dave Burns at Recycled Aggregates in the West Midlands, and Sam Ermolenko who has been involved.

"I know I can start the season well. I'm getting things ready as we speak and each year I learn from my mistakes. I made mistakes last year and didn't start the season well with Sheffield but I know where I've gone wrong and I can out it right."

Co-promoter Hoggart said: "Obviously I am delighted, it hasn't been easy for either of us but we have both moved so that the original offer could be re-drafted to make us both happy.

"Ricky has set his stall out to capitalise on his excellent performances towards the end of last year and expects big things of himself.

"His rostrum spots in the Monster Classic and the Rob Woffinden Memorial meeting demonstrate his spirit and positive frame of mind at the moment and he is genuinely excited to be back.

"I have to thank Chris Van Straaten and Peter Adams at Wolves for their help and support, they are right behind Ricky and have always encouraged his Premier League racing."
