WOLVERHAMPTON have agreed a deal with Coventry to buy Ricky Wells.

And the American World Cup rider wants to carve out a long term career with the club.

Wells is about to spend his third successive season with the Parrys International Wolves and is in the side for Friday’s trip to Belle Vue (1pm).

He said: “I’m really happy to become a Wolves asset. Chris (Van Straaten) texted me on Monday afternoon to tell me and it’s a real relief that it’s all gone through. Everyone seems happy with it so it’s really good news.”

“I’ve had a good time working with Chris and I’m just happy to be at Wolves again this year and to be become their asset is good news to me looking to the future.

“I saw Freddie Lindgren have his testimonial after spending ten years with Wolves and I’d love to be able to do the same.

“I wish I could’ve started my career with Wolves when I was 17, but I didn’t and I’m just happy I’ve found myself here now.

“I hope I can progress as much as I did last year and have a great season.

“Last year was definitely the best year of my career, and everything was working for me so I hope that can continue in 2013.

“Ever since joining Wolves it’s been going well, and since being at the club I’ve been working with Sam Ermolenko which has been a massive help.

“Between him and Wolves I’ve got a great setup, When Chris has asked me if I want to go back to Wolves the past two years there’s never been a doubt in my mind and I want to stay there for as long as I can.”
