Workingtons start to the season came to a hault early Saturday morning due to the weather, and a waterlogged track. The Comets opening to the season will take place at Brough Park against the Newcastle Diamonds.Ricky enjoyed a great Press and Practice saying, "it was great to get back on the Workington track. LOOKING AHEAD..

We are well into the winter 'off season' at the moment, and things are looking good for 2016. Ricky secured a deal to ride as Workington's number 1 for the 3rd consecutive season before the last home fixture.Ricky was left out of Wolverhamptons 2016 plans, and he hopes to have a new deal in the Elite League secured before the end of the year.

Workington wrapped up their Premier League season with a convincing win at home to Edinburgh. This made them unbeaten at home all season, the only team to do that in the Premier League. Having not picked up many points away from home, this left the Comets out of the playoffs. Ricky scored 11 Points on Saturday night, with a rare last place in Heat 15. Workington number 1, Ricky Wells, finished as runner-up in the 2015 PLRC, held at Sheffield's Owlerton race-way Sunday.Having picked up 9 points from his five qualifying races Ricky was in fifth place overall, which meant he had qualified for the four-man semi-final, from which two would progress to the Grand Final.  This brought together Edward Kennett (Rye House) on gate 1, Josh Grajczonek (Somerset) on gate 2, Ricky on gate 3 and Redcar's Jonas B Andersen on the outside gate. ..
